As seen on another forum in a discussion about common D3 problems:
Has anyone experienced or heard of this happening on a Puma 2.4 engine? -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

As someone who works on Transits on a daily basis, and has done since long before the Puma engine arrived ... i can honestly say that in over 1000 vehicles that is one problem never encountered Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

As with the 2.2 not having a DPF and the ECU being different for your market if there are issues over there I suggest they may be 'self-induced' perhaps with a different standard, but I've never heard of any big-end and main bearing issues over here???? It would have been BIG news too. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
