Bloody hell, if everyone cut their losses and sold their Defender every time it needed some work there'd be none left on the road! You need to fix it
The re-chassis is the best option, though there should be plenty of life left in your current one if you replace the back end. Losing 2k is only really an issue if you plan to sell it, and you wouldn't be doing that if you were re-placing its chassis. Bulkhead can be fixed, it will be full of rust internally. Rusty capping is just an aesthetic thing unless it's really bad. Again can be fixed fairly easily. Nothing insurmountable |

Hi I've got a rusty front bulkhead too but nothing on the chassis. Was going to take it to Gigglepin as I understand they repair/replace them. Has anyone used them and want to share they're experience or used another shop they'd recommend?
