C'mon Jeremy - confess all and tell us what your fuel consumption was on the run up to Gaydon and back? I'm still wishing I had room in my garage for a vehicle just like that - just a big toy for someone who has yet to grow up.

Good spot, it was ex-SEB. The colour now is slightly lighter than original

No idea on consumption, it's a V8, that's all that matters! Cool

not much, reading 1.3 now (ideal is 1.1) was 1.5 but anything under 2 is ok

Been out on a mercy mission in the 130, had flood water over bonnet and now have the carpets out to dry.

Headed back home and got the TD5 tray back out with 35's on, still had footwells flooded

And this was all just in our Lane Shocked

Did some Santa related jobs in Tonbridge and then dropped my girlfriend at boots to get some stuff.

While she was in there I had a wade through some very deep water that was where the car park should have been.

I did my best to try and deter people from driving into it but they were convinced that a Honda Jazz would be the perfect vehicle to wade through water with.

One woman in fact was adamant that me towing her to a dryer higher level car park was out of the question and that she would rather sit in her cold and wet car waiting for the AA man who said he would be at least 4 hours... you can but try sometimes...

After doing my best to pick people up my girlfriend needed picking up so sploshed round to get her, the water now lapping at the door sills which must have been deep as I have a 2" lift!

Trundled home gently having now thoroughly cleaned off the chassis only to get home and see something a bit off with my spot lamps

So I grabbed a screwdriver and disassembled them and they are now drying out on the radiator!

Don't bother sealing them, it never works. Drill holes in the bottom, the true defender method, let it run in and flow out.

Probably best thing mate, by the time she had rolled into the back of your land rover a few times, hit everything in the car park while you towed her before blaming it all on you, it just isn't worth getting involved! Sounds harsh but if they are stupid enough to drive into it in the first place it does make you wonder whether getting involved is the best thing Laughing 2001 TD5 110 County Station Wagon - sold

Being a 'good samaritan' in today's confused world can sometimes badly backfire - especially if you offer to tow someone's car out of a flooded area, a ditch, icy car park or a snowdrift.

If the person you are offering to assist is a clueless muppet - you may find they end up damaging their own vehicle even further, possibly damaging your Defender and then blaming you for their problems.

On the other hand I've helped a few folks in the past and found them to be very appreciative of a quick and free tow out of a sticky situation.
