Just got my insurance renewal through and they now insist that my vehicle has a Thatcham 2 immobiliser fitted.
I have a letter from my dealer saying that the immobiliser is Thatcham approved and looking on the Thatcham site it does look like Cat 3 is a mechanical immobiliser and Cat 2 is electronic. Does anyboy know if the standard immobiliser is actually Thatcham Cat 2 approved ? Bob |

I think all factory fit alarms and immobilisers are Thatcham approved. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

They sure are cat 2 from 07 onwards. I phoned LR and between us we found them listed on the Thatcham site.
