Switches?
Hello all, can anyone please explain to me why a switch has three terminals? Saw one on flea bay, then noticed that it had three terminals? I'm a total novice at automotive electronics. Oh, the switch has an LED warning light ob board BTW. Thanks. Johnny.

a One is Earth/GND

b One is Power (connected to a 12v fused power line)

c One is the Switched out.

When off b & c are not connected

When on b & c are connected and b & a are connected lighting your LED in the switch

No 1.....power source
No 2.....accessory/item controlled by switch
No 3.....earth, enables the led or whatever telltale to illuminate when the switch is in the on position.

Often it's up to the installer to find the correct combination which works Whistle
