plus side easier to keep clean
I just had mine dyna matted under the cheap covering so have sound deadening without losing ease of cleaning - not sure I miss carpet but does make it look a bit more agricultural 2020 P300 HSE |

It's an option now think about £155. They are great at soaking up the water that comes on.

Why would you want carpets in a Defender.

It's the same on the SW too. I nearly missed the fact that they weren't included. |

Well, people buy Defenders for different reasons, so for sure there will be owners that think that carpets will always be superflouous, but there will be some, like us, who will use our Defender for simply "convential" uses, who may welcome the opportunity of a carpet option. Cheers, Pickles. |

and indeed there is a carpet option!
Carpets are just there to get ruined and hold water imo. Plus you can't hose it out as well with carpets in |

Mine doesn't have them (MY13 90XS) and to be honest he's better off without them. Once floor mats and rear load mat down he wonn't notice. As others have said he won't have the problem of soggy carpets when, not if, the rain finds it's way in!
Get it dinitroled though, sound investment |

You wouldn't want carpets if you lived over here mate they would be mouldy in no time |

I had carpet in my 110 td5 and it was nice and quiet with no leaks.
My new 110 Xs has no carpet and if a stone hits the underneath it sounds Like an almighty bang. Would prefer to have carpet if I'd had the choice at the time. |

Are you saying the old lambskin footwell rugs from the Bentley are going to get wasted if I put them in a new Defender? Then there's the vintage hand knotted Afghan rug I planned to cover the loadspace - is that going to get all mouldy? Smartly dressed young chap at Lloyds didn't mention leaks or mould during his sales pitch ........ |

Strangely enough, my salesman mentioned leaks and the demo I drove had a puddle in the drivers footwell
I'm still yet to place an order, but will be adding carpet to my XS 90 SW purely for noise and to protect the rear arch box sections as these are very prone to scratching and will a mess very quickly It will be a daily, and carpets also add that little extra comfort |

You are telling me... 3 days and counting and the carpets are still not dry... They do make a heck of a difference to the sound deadening though |
