Weld on shock mounts
HI All this week i am going to weld new shock mounts to the rear axle of my 90 do i drain the diff or is it needed as it will be welded with a mig in short blasts allowing it to cool down

There shouldn't be too much oil up in the "tubes" of the axle casings, but to be sure, as you'll have it up on axle stands anyway, just lift the side you're welding higher than the other side and let gravity sort it out.
