Broke the N/S door mirror on a big branch sticking out of a hedge this morning. Did'nt see it in the dark. Sad

If you meant the glass is broken and you didn't already know this, the rubber glass-retaining strip has magical properties.

Cold, its like iron but put the mirror head in a sink of hot water for a couple of minutes and it becomes like jelly for long enough to take it off and remove the glass very easily.

FYI..... 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop
Now a 2013 110 USW too.

Thanks for the advice I did not know that.
Ordered a new mirror from Rimmers which arrived today and took 5mins to fit.

Next time I will just order the glass.

I got my baby "Faith" back after a long week of missing her. Mr. Green

She is completely professionally Dinitroled & waxed on & in all her chassis and underbody(!) Had a new NAS tow bar step fitted (Bearmach), & a jetwash + valet. Learned that Terrafirma wheel spacers are not the best.....

Many thanks to Bob Neville for tipping me on the excellent quality of service West Somerset Land Rovers (http://www.westsomersetlandrovers.com/) provide, & to Richard & his staff for the care they took. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

This weekend, time permitting, the big wheel arches go on, & several other bits and pieces. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Met up with Ericvv and Kitoper today for a raclette at AutoBritt Geneva , it was so nice to put a couple of faces to names and have a close look at Eric's showroom SVX and Kitoper's Hunter edition.

Next time, I'll bring my ICE to say hello to it's Swiss cousins Thumbs Up

Just enjoyed it - checked kit and then felt sorry for other drivers in mere cars.

Can only endorse Kitoper's comments. It was a real pleasure to meet Mrs and Mr bpman here in Geneva, only a pity that they did not bring the ICE. Oh, Mr. bpman, your ICE is not just a "cousin" of our Swiss SVX and Hunters, the ICE actually has the same Swiss roots as ours. Whistle Very Happy
Safe returns today Thumbs Up
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Putting Betty's interior back together - front headlining back in now sunroof leak seems to have been eliminated by Dave's strip down and service ...

Drilled couple of holes in rear headlining to fix into centre spar to remove sagging - worked Thumbs Up

Bit more dynamat fitted under seats and to battery/ecu box lids ...

Replaced the clutch master cylinder but somehow manage to damage the thread of the push rod!
Hopefully found where the water enters the roof and drips onto my right knee. Looks like where the gutter meets the windscreen surround had a little bit of sealant that looked like it had peeled away, so removed the excess with a knife and found some water behind it.. Fingers crossed! 1999 Defender TD5 110
