Just choose a suitable power connection Not To Be Discussed In Public which needs to be a constant live not ignition live. I.e. Powered 24/7 not only on with the ignition / engine.
If you have problems discuss with Skytag direct OR an authorised seller / fitter. There are a couple on here such as Matt @FCX Chris at CSK land rovers.

Take your time, sit in the car and go, if i was looking for a tracker to remove where would I look. Then think again, have brew and ponder the options. There are some cunning locations available but you just need to find them.
When a position is found, ponder the cable runs in your head and check for trim etc that can be used to hide the cables / make them look like they should be there. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Just don't put it under the headlining - and use the interior light wiring like a lot of people seem to recommend.

The three stolen recovered Defenders I've help put right have always had the headlinings pulled down... so the thieves know this is a common place.

The other place I have seen them fitted is double sided taped to the 10AS alarm unit... which used to make me laugh as one way to steal a Defender is to swap the 10AS (and a few other things).

As has been said, you need to think like the thief.

Loom the power cable in to existing cables to disguise it.

It doesn't matter what source you use for the power because at the end of the day the thief can disconnect the vehicle battery (Skytags have their own built in battery to power them for 2 to 3 days)

Yes... the two 90's and 110 I've had after been stolen recovered (well, one was just attempted theft) had their headlining pulled down. I imagine that the thieves had found out this was a common place to fit trackers... both individuals and professional companies do it - as very easy to get the power feed.

In fact, at one point I seem to remember this was a recommended place by one of the tracker providers.


I fit insurance approved and none insurance approved trackers... and mine are not easy to find!!

In fact I go to great lengths to make any wiring mods look completely factory and do a proper stealth install.

On speaking to suppliers of trackers at shows they suggested head lining or behind dash board...nah, to obvious! 1999 Defender TD5 110

That's why they jam them first of all, so they have a chance to get away and then have a root around.

You could consider fitting more than one Smile Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Yep more than one is an option, I notice on the Skytag leaflet that it is absolutely a no no that anyone takes pictures or such like or gives any specific technical detail. Let's just hope that it stays that way too.
Trouble is on here there is always one comment or two that gives hints to this and that of details on it, which any one with any brain at all can guess.
