What's the relative merits of the low-line or bridge versions? One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

warn powerplant on my 130 with plasma rope (100fr i think) . use a pulley and it will pull you fully loaded out of mud and top up your tyres aswell.
went to devon 4x4 , highly recommended Sib

some like the bridge version so they dont have to worry about mounting the solenoid pack elsewhere. Some non bridge ones come with the pack mounted above the motor some have them loose.

with a non bridge version you get good visibility of the rope going onto the drum which is ideal if you are running wire and dont want to snag it. Cheers

Sounds like a TDS 12.0i is the right choice:

12k lbs of pulling power is well over-spec'd and won't strain the winch under pretty much any circumstances (ideal for a bogged down and laden 110 or 130); pretty cheap (429 + VAT) allow you to add a synthetic rope without breaking the bank; good performance in crap conditions.

Oh well, I'll add it to the list Whistle One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

For self recovery leisure use, its got to be a TDS Goldfish,, Good winch and excellent valve,, forget a 8274 for that job

Have a overvolted TDS sat in the middle of the challenge truck, been more reliable that the Twin GP 8274 Sad California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1
