I plan on changing my brake/sidelight and indicator lamps to LED ( OEM size NOT NAS ) but I'm not sure if ALL clear or traditional red/clear/amber would look best on my 2010MY 90 XS in Santorni Black.
Any thoughts??? LANDYWATCH Neighbourhood Watch for Land Rover Owners http://www.landywatch.co.uk/smf2/index.php |

A question. When travelling abroad you have to carry spare bulbs. But if all side/brake/indicator lamps are LED???
I suppose only individual LEDs are likely to fail and not the whole light set at once unless there is an electrical fault which would also fail a normal incandescent fitting anyway LANDYWATCH Neighbourhood Watch for Land Rover Owners http://www.landywatch.co.uk/smf2/index.php |

I was going to go clear all round, however an now also bit concerned about the saxo look. I'll need to find some pics. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

I solved that problem by wrapping 1 side light and 1 tail light in a cloth and stored them in the battery box, just in case. along with a light switch and under the drivers seat I have a spare serpentine belt....just in case BM52 |

Guess the plod can not require us to carry complete replacement LED lamps with us, just in case of failure which is less likely to happen than with single filament bulbs. I have only the center brake lamp and the front indicators left with filament bulbs, so maybe should buy spares for those. Although with a SVX front and with an A-bar, there is no way that I would even try to change the bulb of my front indicators somewhere on the road. I would not have the tools with me, nor the desire to dismantle half the front of the truck. When LED lamps with multiple LEDs fail, indeed it starts with playing up, meaning individual LEDs are going, but not the entire unit. At least that is what happened with my SVX tail lamps as you can see below. All replaced now with new ones from Mobilecentre.... Eric Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender. Click image to enlarge Personally I used to like the clear front and rear but since changed my mind. Each to their own I say, if I had to choose the clear all around it would have to be the SVX type like Eric has but they are much more expensive.

I had clear all round but swapped them for LED in traditional colours. Each to their own but my preference is the traditional route on this occasion. _______________________________
