Do a full panel-by-panel check for any knocks or dings...hard to prove once you drive away.
Check everything works Make sure any accessories are there and installed. Check paperwork. Chances are it'll be almost dry of fuel Allow quite a bit of time...I had to rush last time, and it was painful... Be sure it's all as expected before you sign anything...don;t be afraid to reject the sale until you're happy. One new vehicle was a delight. Although it wan't a nice day, they had the vehicle indoors, it was spotless, and spent ages talking through things before I drove away. The dealer even gave a bunch of flowers to my Mrs. My Defender was dire. I arrived as agreed. The car wasn't ready, it was parked on wet grass, and was dirty, the dealer was in a rush, and the overall treatment was awful (that was Cambrian in Wales). The end cappings are sometimes badly fitted leaving quite a gap between the panels.

Plus add
Door alignment Front wing/light surrounds alignment (they don't have to be 'droopy'!) Emergency key unlock code/setup if they still have that fitted. Radio code (took a while to get mine) I think there's a previous list of things to check but I can't find it either.
