I have done my own, also cleared the codes and had no issues since last year. Cost me £0 except parts. Your parts prices are indeed correct though, they went up last autumn before they were about £118. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

EGR bought from MJF ebay shop and fitted at a cost of £42 by them on Wednesday and vehicle now appears fine. They agreed that the EGR was the problem and thus didn't connect it to the computer. So total cost was £147 which we were quite happy with. One wife - livid

Normal acceleration when cold, very flat spot at 2k revs and a reluctance to go beyond it when hot, no self cleaning noise when switching off.
MIL warning light not on when symptoms first developed, then came on about half way through a six mile journey. Light off all the way en route to the dealer, although self cleaning process still not happening. Back to normal completely after the work was done. One wife - livid |

When mine had problems it was producing stuck closed codes which is fine by basically self blanking BUT it would of course produce the MIL so had to be replaced. Being stuck open is much more of a problem though by far. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Yes .. Better in a straight line, but have a problem with a loss of performance when coming out of a corner .. Almost a misfire .. Any ideas?

To add to my original post - the flat spot returned although the egr was doing what it should. Back to MJF yesterday, and a problem with the wiring harness on top of the engine. Replaced, and all seems well. A weak point with the original they said, and the replacement has some sort of mod apparently. Hopefully that's it! One wife - livid

Mate brought his 09 puma over for 90k service & each time the engine was switched off it sounded like a distressed phesent What a squeel! This is now the 2nd egr I have fitted to this engine & did it in less than 1 hour as I knew what to do All nice & quite again now Chris 2008 XS 110 2.4 Utility.
