Today it's Maplins. My elecktrickery tester has been on its last legs for a while so as I had made a trip to town I called in at Maplins. Usually it is one of those places that transport you back to your childhood much akin to being a child in a toyshop. Went up to the relevant part of the shop and began looking at the array of circuit testers, damp meters, distance measurers and all I wanted was a cheap and cheerfull circuit tester with a digital display and a buzzer as it can be a pain trying to look st the screen and watch what you are actually prodding. After looking a little lost I had to ask an assistant who didn't know, he then asked another who said if there's a speaker symbol next to the continuity symbol then it will have one, turned round and carried on gazing out of the window. Back to the shelf, only one there a penny under £15 or over £25 for the next one. Took it to the till, the uninterested one sauntered across, glanced at it and said it had a buzzer. Got outside and opened it up before I drove away. Guess what........no buzzer, the box picture had one, the actual tool didn't. Uninterested scarpered when he saw me coming back to the store and no interest was shown by any of the assistants about the misrepresentation of the product. I was not too impressed. Might even send one of those "Angry from Tunbridge Wells" emails as I would have been severly p****d off had I got home and discovered it. Trawl on ebay later I think, fraction of the cost anyway, just have to wait.

Ebay, when something doesn't sell despite being listed twice. That's not particularly being the issue but people that contact you about an item of which you take the time to reply. Of which by this I mean a comprehensive reply not a couple of words as many do. Then to hear nothing at all back, nothing at all, even after sending a second message in case it didn't get through asking if they are still interested. Chillin In The Backwoods🇬🇧🇺🇸

It would appear this does not only apply to Flea bay. You only have one life, live it....forget the cost.

not so much 'grumpy' as off topic anger (sorry)
on GTA 5 there is a vehicle that is unmistakably a jeep wrangler. I find myself every time one passes making it my goal to destroy it as adventurously as possible! it has become such a thing that i nearly found myself considering smashing a real one off the road the other day... ... problem? they are awful, aren't they. JUST MAKE ME SO ANGRY. I MEAN LOOK AT IT: ![]() and breathe..... ![]() Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Not my first choice of vehicle but You have to admit that Jeep are better than Landrover at updating their vehicles to keep the iconic DNA and meet the required approval standards. The latest Jeeps still look like a Jeep whereas we get DC100 concepts FFS. John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

hmm.. yes they meet regs & look updated but in reality in many ways the jeeps are actually more primitive vehicles than the defender
Engines, towing capacity, off road ability all have come on little since the early wranglers, and genuinely (stock) aren't a match for a 90. (except maybe on road speed) and they're still F*ck ugly ![]() Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Sorry to hear that. Can I ask how long ago? A 3kph difference is ridiculous. I get a tad paranoid in France now and tend to cruise sub 80 but always concerned I might miss one of the drops in speed limit and get caught especially on the D roads. BM52
