TD5 accelerator pedal free play
How much free play is there from the pedal at rest to the point you notice the revs increase? and is there a way altering this? 1999 Defender TD5 110

So what your are saying is that as soon as I start to press the pedal I should notice a change in revs? I guess I have around 5-10mm before anything happens 1999 Defender TD5 110

Yes. I'm sure in mine that as soon as you touch the pedal the revs increase.

Early can be used with late, not sure about late with early. depends on your ECU i think, if it's an NNN then you'll be OK.

you will need a nanocom type thing to change the settings.

Six wires equals two track pedal, seven wires on mine, as is a three track.

I had the same problem (very common in MY99), just took TD5 Map Editor and increased throttle sensitivity around 25% in the low end and 10% from 2800 on....it's wonderful now. MY02 don't have this issue, their pedal is better...

Mmm interesting. So one method is to remap the car I guess. (assuming the pedal is not faulty) I need some else with a 1999 TD5 six wire pedal to see how much free-play there is. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Usually I used to have around 1 cm of free play before anything happen in my car, was really bad. I changed my ECU for a NNN120, not remapped, just a plain 110 EU2 map, but really BIG improvement in smoothness and response. Specially with A/C on (I use it all the time), the throttle was really vague. The only "remap" I did was this in pedal response, rest have remained untoched.
