The main fuse will be the one for headlamps/main beam. The auxilaries have their own fuse so that if they go, the headlamps will still work.

Should I uprate the main headlamp fuse as well, they use H4s at present? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Headlight fuse stays as is as no more power is being drawn from them than normal. No Guts, No Glory.

I would recommend you wire them via an Override switch that include a "on-warning". Some MOT stations are now checking the wattage of bulbs in spotlights and if illegal for road use are failing if not wired with an override.
