last minute fault
hi all,

not sure of the best way to approach this. I'm absolutely sure I have a problem with either my MAP or MAF sensor.

car is in tomorrow for MOT and would like to get these checked / swapped under warranty. the problem I've got is both intermittent and not massive but clearly getting these swapped under warranty is favourable to paying out of my own pocket.

any suggestions. should there be fault codes logged that would indicate a problem?

I have absolutely no doubt that I'll be told everything is fine but after 3 years of high / lows I'm pretty sure everything its quite right....in terms of nuts and bolts I'm absolutely sure everything is right but something electrical / electronic isn't Sad .

ultimately I'm getting them swapped but if something isn't right then it SHOULD get sorted underwarranty its just I have little faith in the dealers......unless something has completely stopped working they don't seem too interested in fixing?

thank you

if you are planning on keeping the vehicle maybe invest in a diagnostic tool.

That way you can keep an eye on things all the time if the problem is intermittent

Aaaaaarrrggghhh I'm sorry but as suggested many many times before, you need to find a good Indy or someone who knows your model of defender and get them to check it over Mr. Green Whistle
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question Thumbs Up

There's alot to be said for going to the dealer.

They have the properly trained people and the right equipment. They diagnosed a duff MAP on my Td5 within a few minutes.

I guess they might want a bit more of a specific idea as to whats wrong mind.

intermittent problems are a pain in the backside and it's like going to the dentist. It never hurts when you go!

A standalone diagnostic tool can be run in the vehicle was you are driving so would make things easier to spot

You are possibly right ?

Anyhow first class customer care was received today. Passed the not as expected but its also been booked in for a return visit.

New bumper, new rear prop, new breather pipe, replacement harness for the central locking rear door and a check / diagnostics on the map and maf.
