it;s about 3 inches square and mounted on the front vertical panel of the n/s seat box. if it was a td5 i wouldn't be asking this question.i think someone will know. thanks |

Oh dear god, you poor soul!
OK, you need to get 2 really long appropriately rated wires, and run them from the ignition barrel, through the hole in the bulkhead in front of the instrument panel to the engine bay. One cable needs to be connected to the lower-right most spade on the barrel (right as the view from the driver's seat). This cable needs to be for the starter solenoid. It is important you connect it to the right barrel, otherwise you could have the starter on after you need it to. Obviously, for all these wires, you need to disconnect the existing ones. I chose to pull the starter cable out completely, but I believe the fuel solenoid original is still in place. The next cable is for the fuel solenoid, which is located on the back of the injector pump. I can take some pictures in the morning if you'd like some. As for where on the ignition barrel the fuel solenoid goes, I can't remember, but if you want to test it electrically, you'll obviously want it to be live only in the engine running position of the turn of the key. All these connections are female spades. Also, I disconnected the red alarm light on the dashboard because it was annoying me, coming on when I'm driving. Unfortunately, you now don't have a functioning alarm. Snap. I'll eventually get round to installing an aftermarket one... 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top |

Yup, definately the spider.
All the wires are the same colour for security, so you don't know whch ones to short out in the event of some scrote trying to steal it. |
