roughly measured they are approx 9" from the bottom of the wheel arch (so that's 9" along the underneath of the rear 1/4) they wouldn't fit my 1989 90, but I don't know abiut the latest model (the angle is a lot more acute on my 90 as well)
I guess if they are successful for the manufacturer they may well do a 90 rear if its required, as they added the 110 rears after the fronts were made and marketed. Thankyou, that confirmed my thoughts. Comparing dads 110 to my 90 I can now see they wouldn't work on the rear

On the MUD website they say that although they are not designed to fit, people have told them that they have been able to make them fit with chequer plate on the sills - so it can be done
They didn't say how though. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

I am fitting the extra large Flex wheel arches soon. Would the Mud Defenders still be any good? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Towards the bottom of this page, http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/expedition/dirt-d-fenders.html, there's a picture of one fitted to a vehicle with chequer plate cills, so it can't be that difficult. Thanks, I have these to fit on mine with chequer plate, been holding them up to see potential problems. I see the photo of the mudstuff chequerplate one had no !mudguards. Did those that made them fit have guards as its pretty snug?
Also did you have to remove your side steps if had any? Thanks Peter. |

Has anyone used them in the snow yet? Was wondering how they would bear the weight of all the snow/slush hanging from them. If they have been stuck with double sided tape the extra weight will see them been pulled off, and potentially if riveted

I can say with confidence that they will quite easily carry an inch or so of Devon mud without falling off (fitted with tape -self tappers through the plastic wheel arch)
Whether they will stay stuck with a load of snow on remains to be seen, but we don't get much down here, so fingers crossed. They haven't been out long enough to have a snow test yet. Now they have passed the mrsH approval test I expect the rivets will be done in due course, but it looks like they will be tricky to rivet without taking off the side steps - we,ll see on that though.
