Other option would be to start with a base model but spec the XS interior and internal add-ons.
tried that too but it worked out just about 2k more than the XS. It does seem ridiculous you can't have the base paint option on a higher spec model but there you are... Anyway well pleased with how it worked out in the end.

Another British engineering icon this evening

17 year old next-door neighbours car behind ours tonight...this picture doesn't show it, but it looked as if you could fit the Mini in the back a la The Italian Job.

Very curious! They were happy to spec you the HD rims (same as Steve R) although I think he did lose out by speccing keswick green over a metallic colour. Mine when all specced up was still cheaper than an XS although that was with cloth seats and the plain rear door inside. You have ended up with a very lovely motor but I think you may have been led up the garden path re options. Oddly enough, the dealer in Oxford told me the same thing in 2011, which is why we didn't buy from them. 2011 110 USW

Ah, you were nearly my first Defender wave, but I'm a naturally shy type! Next time!

I know what you mean, I only tend to wave if I'm sure I'll get a response. See you around!

. Yes , " old school " is back . We are even fitting series headlamp surrounds to new defenders but those wheels have to be Limestone cream if they're gonna be retro .

Craftmaster Paints do offer Land Rover Limestone in a traditional coach enamel for anyone who lusts for the truly retro look. It isn't cheap by it is blooming good paint!

Roof should also be limestone for total authenticity....and it looks lovely with dark greens.

(No limestone on mine but it's predecessor was Eastnor Green with Limestone wheels and roof)

I thought Landrover ditched limestone a long, long time ago. It was certainly gone by the time I got my first 90/110 brochure in 1989. I think it may have actually been even before that, pretty much after the 1984 revision to the 110 and the introduction of the 90. 2011 110 USW

Limestone featured on the very early 110's but it didn't last long. Darren
