Just noticed yesterday on a motorway run that the temperature gauge was reading lower than normal.
Yes, I'm aware that Td5s normally read just to the left of vertical (and it always has until yesterday) but this is significantly further round to the left than that. I'm thinking that this can't be anything else but a duff thermostat? Seems to warm up OK though Pic just after getting off motorway: Click image to enlarge 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

When you are off the motorway is the temp ok?
Have you checked the coolant level? With the engine running, gently unscrew the air bleed screw on the coolant hose .. Hopefully some water will come out ... Check your viscous fan? |

Are all other gauges, lights ok? Could it be an earth issue? My temp gauge will twitch when I turn something else on or off.

my temp always sits there, and when i have been booting it for a small while or towing up a hill it does raise slightly, it must be ok, coz my kenlow coincides with that and starts when the needle has gone up a fraction.

It could be a broken spring in the fuel cooler? Just seen this on a 99 disco.
