Although moving to Germany would be quite a thing, my knowledge of the language is a little limited (only enough to get by) and my mechanical skills are also limited an home-taught.

I am supposed to be at least moving onto a regular shift soon which will be mornings, so that will free up evenings for taking on new skills, I'll probably have a go at welding and mechanicing if only to reduce money being spent on the Landrovers... 2011 110 USW

do what I did...........took my Level 1-2 and Observers courses @ LRE, winch course too......Then wrote to local off-road driving schools and put yourself out there....I have been teaching off / on at local course for 4 yrs now.... Not full time, but i'm happy with that.

Like you, I also applied for the LRE jobs, took me 4 days to fill the form in properly, sent it off...........got no thanks back..was gutted...seems they want to train folk up from scratch, and no habits we've collected from years of off-road driving....

Good luck Putting Dreams on Drives at JLR Solihull..

I shan't comment regards LRE, but yeah off-road tuition would be a possibility, I actually had one of our drivers at work ask me why i wasn't doing HGV instruction...

Part time work would be an issue though (I can't do with all this "zero hours contract" garbage) as we are planning on having some babies soon enough... Twisted Evil 2011 110 USW
