My old head unit was the same. I set mine to shuffle, then just skip the tracks I didn't want to hear. I think, there is something you can do to do this differently, but probably depends on the Head Unit.

Another thing worth bearing in mind is that on the iPod you can create a playlist of which you can add what you want to play in a list and that will play straight through. So for example you can have a list of singles play one after another in your desired way rather than individually which isn't practical. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I doubt it... How have you got this connected? If it's 3.5mm aux out I can't see why not? If it's the 30pin plug or whatever it is (or Lightening) then I doubt it. Usually these type are HU controlled or "made for iPod" $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I would recommend you create some playlists of what you would like to listen to and use it that way. On some HU's like mine you can control the lot though the HU it's self on more basic models I would imagine it's just rewind forward skip pause and so on. Only way you'd be able to use the iPod is to connect it using the audio jack but you'd lose the charging facility but equally you can add it separately too if required. (Can cause issues though) $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I'm quite good with apple stuff-
Through 3.5mm jack the HU has no control - only use the iPod Through USB iPods and iPhones go into an eternally annoying 'Accessory mode' which means they hand over full control to the head unit (it's the same as with some music systems / TVs etc) The only way to stop this is to jailbreak your iDevice (a bit risky) - look on youtube if you're interested. I've always had mine jailbroken but I'm fairly capable of sorting out the little niggles that arise as a result. If you do jailbreak then a tweak such as noaccessoryscreen is what you need. Personally I use bluetooth streaming on my Parrot Asteroid as quality is good and I can view song details, artwork etc on the screen but fully control music by either the HU or the iPhone. The best of both worlds in my opinion. Most BT enabled head units will do this nowadays, and they're not too expensive. You're looking at ฃ60-70 for a half decent one. The head unit in the MY13 is BT enabled so I suppose I can give that a go for the phone, but my music is on iPod classic which has no BT

Yeah I was the same, you don't have much option but to use the clunky interface with USB, set a playlist playing or use the 3.5mm jack and control from iPod. It's frustrating. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwardsโฆ Daily is a 110 V8. |

And to be more geeky "noaccessoryscreen" is for ios 3 & 4. For IOS 5 you want "noaccscreen" I run an Ipad as my incar jukebox and movie player. Awsome setup William |
