I'm in a similar pickle. I have General grabbers ATs fittedd and not sure if I should purchase something more aggressive. I sincerely do nit want to be that land roover that got stuck in the snow!

I run BFG MT's on both trucks but had the old standard GG's on the 2.4 in the winter just before I sold it and they were fine as well. SWMBO's RR is running on road tyres and was handling the 4ft drifts up the lane no worries this winter
IMO if you drive sensibly you're gonna be ok as long as your tyres aren't bald!! If you hoon it around having a laugh you will slide off and probably get stuck (speaking from experience !! Click image to enlarge |

if you live somewhere that gets snow every year, consider snow tyres, they provide more grip than std tyres when the temperature is less than 8c, i've had my cooper discoverer snows for 3 years now and still going strong, inc arctic trip in Feb
and it's nice to have a different set of rims for the winter / summer Click image to enlarge Last edited by bpman on 15th Aug 2013 4:47pm. Edited 2 times in total |

Winter rim/tire sets as supplied by Land Rover here in Switzerland.... Wolf rims/Nokian tires. They will go into their 5th winter now, and just perfect behaviour

If your General Grabbers are AT2's then they are winter tyres, as denoted by the snowflake symbol on the sidewalls. I have them on my current 110, as well as on two previous different Land Rovers, and can confirm that they're very good in snow. I did observe that but did want to be certain theyday be worthy of snow. With that recommendation I'll hold off on tyres and buy me that masai winch bumper instead

Standard Wrangler MTR's from LR are rubbish in the snow, had better traction on the GG's that used to come from LR in the snow.
I'll be getting some duratrac's. =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

There are snowflake rated BFG All Terrains available; personally speaking I have found them excellent in the snow. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
