Are Pre 2.2 ABS modulator units the same as TD5 units?
Just had a peruse under both bonnets.

Both units look the same.

They have the same wabco codes only the serial number seems different.

They have the same plugs with even with the same colour codes and cores.

New Puma ABS unit £2,200+vat. Second hand td5 unit...a chuffin lot less!



Can you tell what's just shat itself on the Puma 90? Evil or Very Mad 90XS Tdci John Eales

I'm having the same issue on my TD5. After a bit of research I was directed to www.ecutesting.com. A couple of people have had some success with them. I mentioned it to the garage I use (MID Engineering) and as a test he sent one up from a freelander, now that's back and repaired mine is out and in the post to ecu testing as I type.

Holefully a quick read through that and maybe get in touch with ecu testing will help and save you a load of ££££. I've not spoken to ecu as the garage has done it all so don't know what they're like to deal with. Worth a shot though! Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

Puma 2.4 up to MY2010, ABS is WABCO (same as td5)

Puma 2.4 MY2011, ABS is BOSCH

Puma 2.2 MY2012 and newer, ABS is BOSCH Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition
