bulkhead landy 110
Hi
I'm considering buying a 1991 defender 110 but it has some rusty holes at the top of the bulkhead corners (see photos). How bad could this be? Is this inside corrosion coming out or surface corrosion eating in? The rest of the bulkhead looks alright below the windscreen etc.

Thanks

Jools

I can't see any photos but bulkhead rust is a common failure.

You'll end up replacing or repairing the bulkhead at some point so factor that into your pricing. Maybe better to look around for one that doesn't have such far-advanced rust. It'll maybe buy you a few more years before remedial work is required. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

If the holes are on the outside, far left and right corners (under the screen) you can buy a repair pannel for each. These you can weld on place, if you take your time and get it right once painted it will be hard to spot.

If they have gone here the chances are it has also rotted on the inside (opposite), here you need to take the dash off. If there are holes you can weld a small plate over it.
