United Kingdom 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Haynes
I realise that there are quite a few important differences between the Puma and TDi/TD5-engined Defenders, but how much of what is listed in the Haynes manual are similar?

Just curious if it would be handy to carry out some tasks... eg I've got to change the hub seal my rear wheel and can't find a guide on t'internet.

In general terms, the chassis (excluding engine specific mounts), body (apart from the bulkhead, bonnet and rear seat mounts), most of the electrics and suspension are the same as late TD5 models.

Axles, gearbox (except transfer box), engine, dashboard and seats are obviously different.

There are probably other detail differences but given Land Rovers' policy of not changing anything unless they really have to, there are a lot less than a lot of people seem to think. Darren

Ah, didn't realise the axles are different. Thanks!

Definitely the diffs, anyway. I suspect that a lot of the ends, inc. brakes, are the same. Darren

I don't think there's any difference in the diffs between late Td5 and Puma until the advent of the 4-pinion Rover pattern diff on later Pumas. Even then removal and refitting is the same.
