Experience with the swivels, but not the bracket. My swivels are mounts to the winch bumper and have worked well. I have noticed that sometimes the spring clip pops out the groove but a quick poke with a screw driver and they soon pop back in place 1999 Defender TD5 110

I've got the swivel recovery eyes on my FF tubular winch bumper, but I've got no experience with the bracket either. An engine to TDi for!

Well hopefully they will be strong enough. i removed my winch bumper and put a standard one back on.

They look good, its a shame about the paint work. the quality isnt the greatest for the price. im getting my friend to powder coat them tomorrow

They don't look man enough for the job.
MSA regs wouldn't accept them.
Could have trouble with the MoT man.
Why not use Jate rings?

Well I've fitted the recovery points. Not the easiest thing to do.

But this is what they looks like

Think they look pretty good. Im guessing there's a circlip or something on the back of the swivel body that holds it into the bracket? I would have thought that would be the potential weak link, that when force is applied it's trying to rip the swivel through the bracket, but it all looks reasonably beefy. I guess you had to use a hole cutter and cut holes in your bumper as per the equip ones? 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

they work the same in tubular winch bumpers. cant imagine they would rip through. ive given mine plenty of abuse and they work great.

Yes i had to cut holes through the bumper, i still need to apply some paint or get the bumper re powder coated. I know when they are mounted to a tubular winch bumper there is an extra support bracket on the chassis where the steering guard is mounted, but with these there isn't. They are mounted the same way as the standard bumper. Im going to have to get really stuck and try them out

These always look to me as though they'd rattle like doorknockers as you drive. I presume that either they don't, or are only fitted by people with a high irritating-noise-threshold!

With a couple of stategically placed rubber grommets (I used the ones you fit to domestic socket electrical metal backboxes) the bowshackles don't move/vibrate and hence no noise at all. My recovery points are built into the bumper. No issues whatsoever with MOT man and no MSA Membership to worry about??????????

Thumbs Up
