Scangauge II upgrade
Hi all,

I saw on the Scangauge website that there is an upgrade available for users of the older, pre 4.02, software...
Not wanting to be without my SG2 for a few weeks, I emailed them to see if it was possible to do the upgrade myself..
Got a speedy reply, and was amazed at the cost... Only $25 for a brand new main circuit board, including postage and packing... So, I sent the cash via PayPal, and waited 2 weeks.. This morning a box duly arrived from the USA with no duty to pay..

Well, the swapout of the main board took all of 5 minutes, only 4 screws to remove, and a ribbon cable to detach, remove the board, swap the board, replace the ribbon and screws and now I have what is effectively a new ScangaugeII, all for $25 (about £16!).. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ... ,-------,

The changes that have been made are as follows:

- Added AVG and TFC as pre-programmed XGauges
- Minor bug where “Gallons to Empty” was flashing on the screen for Gallons to Empty XGauge fixed
- Fixed bug that was preventing ScanGauge from connecting to certain Mercedes vehicles
- Added performance feature
- Changed menu system so it flowed better
- Added voltage as a shut down method
- Made performance units metric when kM is selected as distance metric
- Fixed an issue with Scan feature that was causing the ScanGauge to capture invalid data
- Fixed an issue with the unit not shutting off on Mazda's with the SkyActiv feature ... ,-------,

Well the upgrade arrived in a box, well packed and basically I've now got a new, updated Scanguage. The only part used from the old unit was the plastic case. The upgrade included a new screen, new circuit board and new buttons, just the old case to use.
