I've a Mantec "Plastic Jobbie" sitting in a box outside; should I fit it or not? Does it really reduce mpg and increase noise? Had a cheapo metal one on my on my Td5 and never noticed any difference.

It won't make any real difference to mpg unless you're anal about counting the mpg and there won't be a noise issue.

We have a LR one (essentially the same as a mantec one) and we notice no difference.

Thumbs Up

I have a mantec one and I've not really noticed any difference. A couple of people have seen a couple of mpg drop and someone even reported a tangible BHP fall off but I've not noticed either.

Of course you should fit it Thumbs Up One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

the main reason to fit a RAI (not a snorkel, btw), is to prevent intake of dust in the engine and to get cooler air in, not to attempt crossing the Channel Rolling Eyes

Howzit? Tut tut re RAI lesson! I'll give you £100 (12 gazillion Rand) if you can find a spec of dust in our British air at the moment. Most roads look like the Channel too.
Thumbs Up
