Fantastic. Hope you are enjoying the fruits of your labours. My unit is also finished and has been used a number of times. I really must post some pics in my 'my defender' thread.
Having said that, I bet you had just as much fun building it. One of my favourite quotes this one:-

What a fantastic trailer you have, I love it . Your upgrades look great, and the workmanship beautiful. Have you got any pics of the drawer system you have built into the 90.
On another note, that doesn't appear to be fish on the menu Mick |

Great build..!
I'd like to tap your wealth of knowledge if I may..? I'm planning some drawers for the rear of my 90 and have been looking at jointing methods. I'm looking at pocket screws and glue. I just wonder if you have any views on this method, and also what glue you would recommend..? cheers simon |

to make the strongest drawer you really need to cut dados (slots) for the ply to sit into to give the biggest glue area to make the joint as strong as possible. You can probably see the idea on the photos of mine
This might be the time to invest in a router. glue wise titebond 3 which is a waterproof PVA is the one to go for. CC |

Thanks CC, I've got router, so could go that way. I was just worried about the amount of space the dados would take.
I've also see dados where a rebate is also cut in the panel, so halving the space taken...not sure what that joint is called. Trouble is, its probably beyond my skill level..! Thanks for the help. cheers simon |

Thanks for the pics of the rear fitout. That side cabinet certainly tidies up an area which can be a bit hard to utilise (space wise). I'm still trying to decide what to do with the back of my 90, it's nice to see what other ideas people have come up with.

Thanks CC, the dado & rabbet (sic) is the other version I'd seen. Will give it a go.

Hello chopcat
I've recently acquired one of these and am in awe of your modifications, but wondered if you have any detail on the trailer pack/battery pack/inverter thing in the front? |

the 240 power block you can get from a camping / caravan shop. it is a glorified extension lead. I have one in the front by the fridge and one in the side for phones etc.
the charger is a CTEK as for the solar power, that came with the trailer but I would probably do something different given the choice. IS that what you meant?? CC |

Ah, looking through your pictures I see that you have something different to me.
In the box in front of the fridge I have this thing: Click image to enlarge It has a 240V connection and 12V outlets dotted around the trailer, inlcuding one dedicated to the fridge. It appears to have 3 South African 240V outlets on the front, so I guess it has an inverter. I am also assuming that it has some form of charger for the batteries. I was hoping you had the same so I could compare notes. I don't really want to have to dismantle it to find out what's what. |
