Hi Low switch
according to the hawkeye my 110 is in low when in high and visa versa, will this effect the driving as low is reduced throttle??

the plug on the switch only goes one way, so can i just cut and swop wires or is it a hawkeye giving incorect data www.Equi-Trek-Tregaron.co.uk

Nanocoms also show this back to front thing. don't know why.

You'll know what way around it is.... when in low range, and the switch contacts closed, you'll get little throttle reponse until about 7/10ths of the way down, then it'll go like a rat up a drainpipe.

"Normally open", as in, the contacts of the switch are open and not touching, is "high" range.

when you select low range, the switch presses and the contacts close.

I don't know why these readers all sense them back to front (I think the later generation of nanocom sorted this problem out) i'm sure BAS or IRB can explain.

So, if you don't like the low range throttle response, just unplug the switch off the front of the transfer box (and put some tape over the plug to keep the poo out)

I was told (no idea if it's right or not) that all the original aftermarket boxes were cloned from one that was reverse engineered from a Land Rover test book. The original reverse engineered version had it the wrong way around (and also the clutch switch IIRC) so all the clones had the same problem.

Some of the clones were later fixed by their suppliers but most weren't, hence the Nanocom et al still read it backwards. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/
