It probably happened while dune bashing hard...
I noticed something was missing under the hood : Click image to enlarge It's actually a "cylinder head cover": Click image to enlarge Item 9 here : Fair enough, I'm going to order it, but two questions : Is it any dangerous driving without it ? I can't find anywhere the purpose of that opening, and therefore, its closure... How on earth did it pop out ? Chris |

There's no thread in mine, or you'res in the pic. If you google Landrover Puma Engine 2.4tdci none of the images have one either.
Only this weekend I was intrigued why there was a hole there and it leading no where. |

Looks like a filter removal tool? Or a spare filter housing?

No Defenders have them as far as I've seen and to be honest, don't see what it does as the hole is already blanked off.
My Motorhome is Transit based with a 2.2 Puma (140bhp upgrade). I'll take a look and report back as I've never really noticed. EDIT: just checked a Ford catalogue for that part number, it comes back as "Cover", however, 6n602 comes back as oil filter.......? What is this? > http://www.niparts.com/OEM/41D61B/FORD/6N602.html < It's even listed as a Defender fitment? Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |
