Update... called Landrover assist, they were at my house 25 minutes later!
Door lock part seized, arranged for it to be fixed at local dealer tomorrow, and free hire car into the bargain Not happy that its gone wrong, but good recovery on their part to be fair |

Glad it's sorted out. The locks can indeed be funny things. My passenger side plays up if it's pressed from outside by accident before being unlocked. If it is then it will only open from inside meaning scrambling about from one side to the other just to reach.
