Germany 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Baltic Blue
Looks like a great (also as in "large") job.

Seriously though, will you really end up with a "quiet" vehicle at the end of it? Our family (me, wife and 4 teenage children) have driven about 10,000 km in our 110 on holidays and no-one (!) has ever made a serious complaint about the noise...

However, if it would give me the peace and quiet I associate with Mercedes taxis, I would be seriously interested Confused Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Superb looking truck Alex.

how much weight in total does the dynamat add ? i like the idea, but adding it to the roof ... i'm thinking it would alter the CoG

I'm not sure exactly but a rough 10-15kg for the roof. Tiny amount in comparison to a roof rack and gear on top. Personally the weight doesn't worry me, no fun going round bends in it quick anyway

thanks Alex ... like the switches too ... air lockers ?

Plenty more bits still to fit and others planned. Still not fitted the rear trim as undecided whether to fit closed cell foam on top of the Dynamat or not.

So, the JW Speaker Headlight were just a bolt in.....no mods required at all....just take the OE units out & put in the JWs......and they still work with the headlight levelling, same as originals?
From what I've read, these headlight inserts seem to be as good as you can get?
Cheers, Pickles.

+1 Thumbs Up
As an added bonus, when I fitted mine I found out LR had fitted one of the lamps the wrong way round and the leveling didn't work properly. Now everything works perfectly - I would NEVER go back to standard lights Cool Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

A little more done today.

Carried on soundproofing, this time used foam on top of the Dynamat

Then all went back together and TGE panels installed. Quick test drive and much quieter.

Roof lining will come back out once a roof rack is purchased as will feed in a reverse camera and rear lights. Undecided whether to trim the headlining black too.

Will get some finished pics up.

Hi there can you give us some details on the foam on top of the Dynamat set up, where did you get the foam and is it just a spray adhesive you used.

Loving the Jw Speaker lights, definately on my list when I'm off to Kentucky. Plenty of sellers are putting me off as they "they are not European versions" if bought in the USA. However speaking to JW Speaker they can supply what I want in Euro spec
