2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
RRC hand brake on a puma ?
Has anyone fitted a RRC handbrake to a puma ?

This was a modification I did to my td5 110, its basically relocating the hand brake to the side of the cubby, makes for easier application of the hand brake. Only the hand brake needs to be changed on a td5, the cable just needs adjusting - thats it.

I got the initial idea from here:

http://www.reedx.net/landrover/mods/handbrake/index.htm

not a great photo but you can see it installed here, it's a little higher and back towards the cubby

RRC handbrake mod
I changed the handbrake lever for an RRC one a couple of years ago, on my 09 Puma 90 xs. It’s so much better relocated next to the cubby box. I set it on an aluminium plinth bolted through the floor panel, using the original brake cable set at a different angle to connect up with the new linkage. I can now rest my leg in comfort while driving. I used the original gator over the new unit. It looks quite good in the new position. When it went in for its first MOT the tester thought it was standard fit because it is an XS model, I just agreed. Also the hole left by removing the old lever was blanked off with an aluminium plate using the two tapped holes that held the original lever on.

Thumbs Up thanks for posting this! My handbrake has been annoying me for years on long journeys so I've just swapped mine for a disco 1 handbrake and it only took about 2 1/2 hours Mr. Green

Did you use a lever the same as the one in the link I posted above?

(If so, I know where I can get one for mine)
