Injector lash.... worth adjusting on service?
I'm doing a servie on the 110 at the moment. engine has about 50k miles on it. Is it worth re-setting the injector lash?
it's not shown on the service schedule, but seeing as it's adjustable, I wonder if there would be any gains from it? would it make the engine any quieter? (my 90, with a 10P engine, is a lot less "ticky", and i've changed he head on it and set the lash up... maybe I just answered my own question there Laughing Laughing )

Morning Jim,

From own experience two things come to mind...

'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' and 'What could possibly go wrong?'

Best leave it would be my own personal advice.... Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Interesting. How do you do this? Any special tools needed? Or it's straight forward once you open up the head? From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At 125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island.

Half inch spanner and a flatblade screwdriver.

Just like adjusting tappets, but no need for a feeler guage... you turn the engine over (with a spanner/socket on the crank) and look at the camshaft... there is 1,2,3,4 & 5 engraved in it, but you can see when the rocker arm is at full drop.

then you loosen the locknut,. turn the adjustment screw until it bottoms out, then undo it 1 complete turn.

I did mine the other day, each one could be wound up by 1.5 turns, then backed off the 1 turn, so they were all 0.5 turns too "loose".

the difference it made? nothing. Whistle Whistle
