Antenna change
Anyone fitted a combined GPS/GSM/Radio Antenna on the roof? Worth the effort/enough space under the headlining?

I'm thinking of something like this:

Where would you fit it? I think it would look strange on the wing top. Do you have a roof rack or bars ?

Anywhere convenient on the roof... No bars or rack...

On the middle of the roof in-line with the rear of the front seats (where the slope stops) would be quite discreet, also with such a low profile it's unlikely to impinge on any later roof rack fit perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

That's the sort of thing I was thinking... Are there any ribs underneath the headlining there? I know it'll be a pain to get the wiring there...

Not sure about reception but you could 'trial' it perhaps by fitting it to your offside wingtop blank. Wiring would be a doddle. If successful and it works you could perhaps leave it there if it looks ok? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I did consider putting it in place of the existing aerial - but though it might look a bit odd there!

There is a rib in the centre of the roof, take a look at my 130 Defender build for pictures

I think your right on that one too Matt. i seem to remember someone who wanted to do this and had to have it slightly off set to central. That's enough to put me completely right off. Neutral $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Think it was DAB aerial placement. IIRC it was Foxkiller, who mounted his Dab offset at the the rear of the roof???

Found a different pic...
Looks like a central position behind the 'hoop' would work ok...
