I believe that LR manufacture holes into the bodywork on the production line, to let water escape. This is the same water that has entered via gaps that arent supposed to be there...

Water on the floor/pedals is something almost every owner encounters. Most common way for water to get in is either..
in-between windscreen rubber & windscreen Windscreen/buklhead brackets and then running down the inside of bulkhead and onto the pedals. Hence the link I posted for sealing such areas. How come youve only just noticed it? |

I too have a similar issue, but some of mine certainly comes from the roof area, runs over the top of the drivers door, hits the door trim and runs directly into my boot on the accelerator pedal
I think it could be coming in the sun roof seal as at times it runs out from under to head lining. Just one of the joys of land rover ownership. At some point I'll remove the roof lining for a look see but there are more pressing issues at the moment. DRW I built a garage for my Mini With a place for everything and everthing in its place. Ten years down the line there's a Mini in there somewhere, and all's where it should be!!!! Ho hum |

There is a special dispenser installed at manufacture that detects when it is raining and randomly dispenses fluid into 1 or thew other footwells.
It has an infinite supply stored in a huge reservoir located in Hyperspace. This is why Land Rover supply nice rubber mats, to protect the carpet from getting wet. He who dies with the most toys wins Defender 90 & 110, S1 80", Disco 1, S111 88 LRSOC & CVLRC |

On a less tongue in cheek post here is a link to the Land Rover official guide for technicians to try and fix leaks in a Defender
http://www.scribd.com/doc/17833628/water-ingress-manual Mine usually puddles on one or the other drivers fotwell mats. After a heavy downpour there is is usually a small amount of water that I can tip out with the mat, fortunately the carpets have only got wet once, but that was whilst I drove Violets Lane, I still have muddy tidemarks 3" up the seat boxes. and the water came up through the door seals!! The dog was NOT happy as he was snoozing in the rear footwell at the time. He who dies with the most toys wins Defender 90 & 110, S1 80", Disco 1, S111 88 LRSOC & CVLRC |
