warning lights in dash - are there spare ones to be used?
Hi,

is there any unused warning light in the dash that could be connected to a 12volt wire ?
If that is possible Iīd prefer it over installing aftermarket lights.

There should be a lot of unused warning lights on the dash (since the Puma dash was lifted from Disco 3) however as far as I know they are all software controlled via the IPAC ECU, so using them may be unusually difficult if not impossible. Unfortunately I don't think that you can even find out the details from the electrical manual, although possibly looking at the equivalent manual for the D3 might give some clue.

Do some Defenders have a seat belt warning light then? Which also means that there should be a sensor in the driver and passenger seats.... Surely not in my Puma, and never heard of this feature.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

You need different buckles with the switches in and the wiring

Of course, you are right.
Are there countries where Defenders have such seat belt warning light with all the wistles and bells equipment it takes, probably required by law there? Not here in Switzerland, and not in the EU as far as I know. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Blackwolf - that was what I suspected. So much the better that there is a simple pin to be lined up. As years pass by there probably will be more info about dealing with the more sophisticated systems. For the time being thatīs way beyond my scope.

I just looked on microcat trying to see what countries the buzzer/light equipped seatbelts are used on, but it doesn't show it, but interestingly they only seem to be available on the LH seatbelt, which would make it for LHD vehicles (driver but not passenger?)... part # EVB500990PMA
