Dug out the invoice now. It was from Brookwells at Bovey Tracey 01726 833848 in August last year. Described as a Decal, part number BTR1045, price £6-62 including vat. Money well spent. Think it was a genuiune LR part. They would probably post one - email is info@brookwell.co.uk. If I can work out how to get a pic on the forum will do so. Ian One wife - livid

Yup BTR 1045 is a "Genuine Part" - Got one here still in the plastic wrapper with the Land Rover logo, part number etc on it. Totally forgot about it! |

There were quite a few different badges fitted over the years. The first was a silver badge with black LAND-ROVER lettering, used on stage 1 V8s and also on 127"s for the first few years. I once saw one which appeared to plastic, but could have been a cheapy die-cast type metal.
Early 90s and 110s had LANDROVER 90 or LANDROVER110 respectively, note the hyphen had now been dropped. These were silver/grey text on black background. For about a year or so before the model was renamed Defender (so about 1989-1990), they had 90 110 or 130 badges, with the Landrover name now on a green plastic oval badge on the grille. After that they were all badged as Defender. (In caps actually), retaining the green badge. The back badges were initially a black oval with silver Land rover text. From about the late 1980s they were different and had the model name in numbers, so they were like DEFENDER 90 with the green badge above the same as now applied to the grilles. I think this stayed right up until the Puma came out which just says Defender on the back with the slash/line/whatever underneath. 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |
