That is actually a very interesting vehicle and if definitely worth saving and restoring. The basic idea (of a 6x6 Landrover) is highly questionable (if in needs 6 wheels you'd be better starting with a bigger vehicle) but as a piece of LR history it is valuable.

I can't really comment on the price, since something like that is worth what someone is willing to pay, but if I didn't already have too many projects I would be sorely tempted. A very, very interesting vehicle.

i've never heard of that vehicle before - i always thought that 6x6 was started by carmichael of the early rr fire engine conversions.
i do remember a low loader land rover that the tail would drop on hydraulics - from memory that was a rigid chassis not a trailer - but i could be wrong Embarassed

That was a very different vehicle and known as the Eezion. It was eventually used as a support vehicle for Rovers' gas turbine racing car.

The Rover BRM transporter was a forward control prototype of 120" wheelbase.
The Eezion deck meant it had to be front wheel drive only.
(The car fell off on it's first return trip from Le Man, so rear sides were added before the next trip.)
