i've never heard of that vehicle before - i always thought that 6x6 was started by carmichael of the early rr fire engine conversions.
i do remember a low loader land rover that the tail would drop on hydraulics - from memory that was a rigid chassis not a trailer - but i could be wrong |

That was a very different vehicle and known as the Eezion. It was eventually used as a support vehicle for Rovers' gas turbine racing car.

cheers darren, that's the beast! couldn't remember if it had twin rear axles or not.
the only other 6x6 land rover i can think of is the austalian army perentie |

The Rover BRM transporter was a forward control prototype of 120" wheelbase.
The Eezion deck meant it had to be front wheel drive only. (The car fell off on it's first return trip from Le Man, so rear sides were added before the next trip.) http://www.thesteamboatingforum.net/landrover/120inchprotos.htm Watch the LR hit the caravan on arrival in the video |
