The instructions are daunting - I had a set delivered to the office yesterday, and along with removing the track rod catcher on the front you need to rejig the brake-pipes on the rear to avoid rubbing. They're sitting in the office until my confidence is up to tackling them. Peter

Sonic, did you have any brake pipe problems when fitting?

Rock on! I took the old Rebel4x4 guard off when Foley waxoyled the 110. Theyreally only offer superficial protection against small stones and earth.
I'm going to put the QT on when I go to Wales next at the end of the month. I'll try to take some useful pictures for others who might be attachng QT guards. ![]() |

It really is straight forward guys, I found that for the front one it was easier to loosely bolt on the top bracket to the diff guard then hook that over the top studs before bolting up the bottom. You'll see what I mean when you come to fit it.
Back one was more or less straight forward apart from it being awkward to reach the top nuts on the back of the diff whilst lying on the ground. Soon found a workable position and it was ok. As Sonic points out getting the holes on the side of the diff case lined up might be a bit fiddly but the Mk.1 persuader soon gets it lined up. I found it easier to unbolt the brake pipe junction thingy to the right of the diff to get the pipes out of the way then put it back on when finished. It's only an 8mm bolt onto a bracket if memory serves. All in all about an hour it took me just on the drive outside the house. |

i found that to line up the holes on the side of the guard/diff it help'd to have the rear bolts done but not tight then a bottle jack under to push it up and around, but thats me, but think yourself lucky i got no instructions and the first one was the wrong type

Timely post - my guards arrived today and I read the instructions in horror.
It wasn't even clear to me what the the two thin brackets that I received were for. It's obviously dark now so this is a job for the weekend. Will take piccies as I go. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |
