Be interesting to hear what the root cause of your revving may be. I too leave mine (also a 2.4) standing for great lengths of time (only 1,900 miles last year between MOTs) but don't suffer the same affliction. Let me/us know how you get on!

It's happened twice now but once running its faultless. If it happens again I will try and remember to post up the fault codes maybe that will help.
