Just had my second service done (40K) even though I have only clocked 29K they insisted on doing the 40K to keep the warenty as the anual service was due after 12months.
I see they never changed the break fluid as mentioned in the schedule I have from the forum somewhere. Have any of you guys had the break fluid changed at the 2'nd service or is it because my mileage is too low? I also had the radiator removed to check for leaks but they said they found none. Hope they never tried to repair it When I got home the expansion tank was near empty I assume the mechanic never drove the truck until warm to open the t-stat and remove the air from the system. Absolute Idiots. Now I have to drive to the parts dept. and probably pay for another bottle as the service guys are not in today. Click image to enlarge |

Just got back from Dealer - the parts dept. called out the mechanic on duty who first went through the job cards and found they removed the side tanks of the radiator and cleaned out the cores which according to them were blocked and re-soldered the tanks to the core. He then took me home and filled up my header tank with a full liter of coolant and gave me a spare bottle. He says these Pumas are a to bleed as there is no actual bleeding screw like TD5 etc. and their test route of 10km should have opened the thermostat enogh to remove any airlocks. I also asked him about break fluid and he said 3 years between changes. Oh well - hope the water level will stay put now. |
