Or negotiate with your dealer to have your truck spayed another colourfor a reasonable price?
Our truck is black and to be honest I'd love another exactly the same but all white. Pics when you can, our new upside down friend! Congratulations and welcome to the site! |

Don't have the answer to your question but wish to say 'Hello and welcome to the site.' Think your name is brilliant, thought it sounded like an Italian Detective, So much so I sought it's meaning.... I learnt something today: 'Perspicacacious' means the following - insightful, wise, astute, sagacious, smart and sharp. Does that not mean you can answer your own questions? Who said you can't teach an old new tricks? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! Had a clue but still had to look it up to make sure! Took me bl00dy 10 minutes to find the thesaurus on my partner's pooter, used to Windows 2003 not 2007. Glad you liked my somewhat commodius retort my Yorkshire Pud Consuming Buddy! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Thank you for welcoming words.
If I could answer my own question, K9F, I would probably have chosen the username 'Deep Thought' and remained silent. I might also be tempted to be unbearably smug. Is it true that UK Alaska white Defenders have white spats? Landrover.co.uk shows them with black spats (although the picture looks like a 130 crew cab). Perhaps they are different on the 110 and 90 (the latter is unavailable in Australia). My concern with painting the spats is that the spats are flexible and the paint is likely to crack. Plus matching colours might be difficult: Land Rover's interpretation of white is likely to be as unique as the rest of the Defender. |

Mine does, it's a LHD 2009 Defender 90 Alaska White bought in the UK before I relocate to the continent. To be honest, I would have preferred black spats myself, I think it looks better with a white Defender, more "old style" if you will, white spats look posh But oh well, it's white and I'll keep it that way, I am used to it now. |

Flexible primer & paint.... a half decent bodyshop should be able to help you out/point you in the right direction.

MuddyMarky: you have given me an idea. There is a body shop in Melbourne that fixed the fairing on my BMW F800GS after I hit a big rock on a dirt track on the side of Mt Stirling (click link below) and came off . If they could fix the fairing on my motorcycle (including matching the paint) then they should be able to paint the spats.

Hope it helped bud! Siumilar situation to where I got the idea from - had some rough looking lightweight fairings for a track bike that needed painting, so the place I took it to sorted for me. Never cracked, even though the plastics were really flexible.
I'm sure they could help you, no probs. Mark 2011 110 XS DC Stornoway Grey |

Good point well presented. Having such attention to detail you could also have chosen 'William' after a famous English playwright and poet? Once again welcome. Have sent you a 'pm!' Hope you get your spats sorted! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
