I guess it depends how pedantic you are about aesthtics!
The bolts would probably do the job of plugging the holes, whilst not looking dreadful. Going the whole way, would look better but would cost a lot more time and money, and also isn't as easily reversible. |

How about some SS bolts painted black but with a domed head so it doesn't as such look like a fixing. Or indeed perhaps even better body painted colour.

I done this last weekend on my 90, after removing the spare wheel carrier you can see the door is all blemishy were the bolts have been nipped up so decided to put it back on CSK Automotive

To tighten you'd have to either tighten just enough to be secure or from the inside cut a small slot in the end of the bolt to a small screwdriver to hold the bolt in place. Alternatively you could go for and Allen head bolt instead if you'd prefer not having this effort but you will have the fixing head visible. Some ideas here:

Still not got around to this, its a job for the week,
what size bolts are they? any tips for the removal of the plastic trim on the inside of the door? its only a car! |

Trim comes off easy - just unbolt the grab handle and there's a little plate behind the internal door catch handle that unclips. Then the plastic door card just comes off, it's clipped around the edge with plastic clips. Make sure you pull it 'square' otherwise the clips can break. Trim removal tool can be handy, if you have one. Alternatively, two small flat blade screwdrivers either side of the fixings with equal pressure applied to each. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

That's a hard way of doing things.....Just buy the domeheads and run a normal low proifile nut down the thread, nip them up whilst holding the end of the threaded portion (or use a further two nuts to lock off the third) and then run a nylock over the top. Job's a goodun and Bob would be your Auntie if he had his bits lobbed off. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
