So Looks a bit more chunky and mad a good improvement to the turning circle, no rubbing now! Been meaning to try these for ages.

Also now have black wheels and bonnet logo for a change (that was a surprise for Mrs H when she got home Laughing

Did you remove the bonnet letters DJ? Or just mask them up very carefully? Notice you painted your wheel nuts too! Looks smart. Thumbs Up 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

Well spotted Chris Thumbs Up

Got to be the easiest way to change things, mask off the surrounding area, do a bit of prep work, spray a few coats - light coats so you get a smooth texture, I went a bit heavy on the letters , hence the slight texture (wheels are smooth though) let it dry for a bit (2 fags and a coffee is plenty) then peel off the excess. It cuts itself neatly around the letters as long as you have done light coats. It takes a few days to cure properly, then apply some wax and jobs done. The beauty of it is you can peel it off when/ if you get bored, but in the meantime it's a durable finish and will survive pressure washing, and chemical wheels cleaners etc.

I have done a bit of testing and although it can be peeled when you want, it is no more susceptible to scratching etc as a clear coat and paint would be - especially with the right curing and waxing.

The downside is its like hens teeth in uk, easy to get in USA . I got mine from Alan at mattpack - he's imported it direct from USA.

Forgot to say, nothing was removed from the vehicle so quite straightforward, I guess if you had to take a wheel off/change tyres then you might sustain damage , but easy to do another coat, plus I haven't changed a tyre in seven years so hopefully that'll continue Very Happy

Thumbs Up Cheers Killer, I'd be interested to see pics of the full vehicle dips you've done Chris as you don't see many landrovers done with it (I've seen the black one you peeled off the next day and the single panel on the blue 90 already) how long does it usually last in your experience? I'm thinking it might be nice to do a full dip on my 90 as the paints not looking too clever, obviously need to get the correct sprayer as doing a whole car with rattle cans isn't advised.

Full cure in this climate would be probably be a week or so (3-4 days in sunny Florida) or so I'm told by my buddy out there.

Just for interest, if it lasts on a bonnet, why not the whole vehicle?

Coverage wise a kit to do up to 19" wheels is four cans of the USA spec product, I ended up using just on three for a 16" boost, that's about 10 coats, the American experts usually suggest 4-6 coats of black. Got a pretty decent layer, judging by the peelings from the bonnet.

Quite a fun product to use really Very Happy

Cheers Steve (easy as well)

I did consider stocking it as I have used it for a couple of rifle stocks as a change from hydrographics, but space is a bit restricted so probably not (although I do have a couple of full cans on the shelf Whistle )
