I always wanted a 993. Last air cooled engine, lovely wide bud however prices are silly and the car was too small for me. I just didn't fit in it.

So I went for a 997 4S Tiptronic version 1, for the same price as a 993 4S. Great driving, ridiculous fast and you always get home safe. Rain or snow are no problem.

Remember that you always buy a Porsche "S-version", 2S, 4S, turboS. They keep their money. Thumbs Up

A good friend of mine, likened owning a 911 to owning a boat, 2 great days ...

> the day you buy it
> the day you sell it

his 993 went bang with only 30k on it, FPSH but sh!t happens, £8k for a new engine and that was an indy, so there are horror stories, but you also hear of people owning them for years, looking after them and having a great ownership experience...

choose carefully or/and get a bulletproof warranty ... a 993 is on my list (and a 959) good luck with your search.

Owning a boat was once described to me as like standing under a cold shower whilst tearing up £50 notes Laughing Darren

Greeni, dont leave it parked up while you are unwell, the tyres will go square and the flutter valve will stick shut (common fault on neglected porsches!!) . I will call round and take it off your hands and look after it until you are better Thumbs Up

No need to thank me, its the least i can do-- No, really its fine Whistle

A Turbo, Tim Thumbs Up nice. And v fast.

I'm loving the 997, Vogue, I nearly had one, but decided not, as I'd need to borrow a bit of money, they have fat asses (my fave).

Marsie, I reckon you'll be having one of your own soon Whistle

Matt, the clock is ticking for you too.
